“I forgive you.”
Does not negate pain or injustice.
Will not erase what happened.
Makes no excuses; offers no reason.
Is not easy.
Comes with no conditions; is given freely.
Is challenging, hard won and sometimes painful.
Is a precious gift – for all involved.
Does not entitle a repeat offense.
An opportunity to begin again.
Releases me from the knot you tried to strangle me with.
Forever.

This is so true. Forgiveness in no way release the person from what harm they have done but instead releases me from making it’s damage long lasting and impacting. Great post!

Wow! This is really well written and definitely strikes a cord with an area I have trouble with. Forgiveness in 12 lines….sounds simple enough! ;)
