Woke up, took a walk around the resort with my husband. We walked under a waterfall, and had a nice lunch at Relish Bistro. It is alfresco dining, which I’ve not done since my trip to The Keys! Birds were just walking around on the patio as we dined on Kobe burgers, and soaking up the island atmosphere.

We decided to take the shuttle to Lahaina and walk to the pier. This is the other side of the mountain that I see from my room; it is more visible from the Shuttle Stop. The concierge tells me that this mountain is the one that produces most of the sugar cane and pineapples. It can not go more than 5 days without cloud cover, or the crops are drastically affected. The things you learn!

After arriving at the Outlet Mall (where the shuttle drops off), we walked about a mile down to Front Street. This is what I would say is the historic section of Lahaina. It is what I would imagine Duval street would be like, and it also reminds me of the boardwalk at Virginia Beach and A1 in Jax Beach. Very old, and filled with all kinds of shops. This is a picture of The Banyan Tree. It was planted in 1873, and encompasses about a city block. Some people have carved their names into the tree.

This is part of a pillar from an old fort, which is made of coral.

This is the view off of Front Street at the opposite end of the pier.

When we got back from touring Lahaina, we had dinner on the Lanai Pool Deck. It was called, “Maui-Ritaville and it was a great time.

This is the tops of the trees we were standing under. They looked really cool against the night sky.
Monday in Maui was great! Let’s see what Tuesday brings!
