Shindig

Yesterday was fantastic.  It was a wonderful day full of anticipation, culminating with a house and lawn full of family celebrating the life of our first miracle child.  We are so blessed to have our family close to us and that they share in these special times with us.  We miss our out of state family too, and can’t wait to visit them someday, so that the kids can see all those we love so much!  So here’s how our day went yesterday:

After a nice big cup of coffee, and a quick run to town, to get the last minute must haves… I prepared to decorate cupcakes..

She wanted “Frozen” cupcakes (blue), and chocolate.

For good measure, I made some white cupcakes too.
Just in case any white cake lovers have an aversion to blue.

Thanks to Aunt Pennie’s Pampered Chef Squeeze frosting thingy, the frosting came out well,
and Line put the “snow” on.

We had plenty of hot dogs, brats, chips and buns!!!

The presents eventually overflowed the high chair!

Some of our family came after running in the garden tractor pull.

And the house started filling up!

So did the lawn!

Lots of cousins to play with at our house!

It’s amazing how quickly they grow!!

Okay, seriously, she is behind the flying tissue paper.
And that’s how it stayed the entire time!  She was moving so fast!

Here, she is kissing a gift card.  My little shopper.  She gets that from Aunt Bug.

Thank You Everyone!!!

Those kids would not go home until I let them jump in!

And we even had a little fire.
Because what’s a party at The R Farm without a fire in the pit?

I will admit, I was a bit teary during the party.  I wished that a few more of our family could be here, I wished that more of our friends could have shared this with us.  I miss them terribly.  I cried because life is beautiful, and I haven’t been enjoying it enough.  And then I laughed.  I laughed because my nieces and nephews find fun in the rocks, and they make farting noises in their armpits and think its hilarious.  I laugh because it happened.  The day, the party, the miracle baby girl who turned six.  It happened.
Line loves all of her gifts.  She has been putting jewelry on, she’s painted her nails four times, put on fake nails twice, sang into her microphone, colored, stickered, danced with her ribbon, read a book, and played in the pool.  She’s been a busy girl!  She is happy to have all these presents, but more than anything, she was happy to have all her family here yesterday.
She told me tonight, “Next year, when I turn 7, I am going to serve everyone at my party, like I did this year.”  She was just so thrilled to have her family and her cousin friends in her home.
Her parents are too.
