I thought it was a pretty good day, nice and cool weather, not much going on. Opportunity to get caught up on some computer work, house cleaned since we worked so hard on it yesterday, kids getting along relatively well, and not too much disobedience. Oh, but there was the dinosaur water being spilled everywhere. And the dog puking three times all over the floor…. So maybe it wasn’t a perfect day, but it wasn’t horrendous…Then he came home…
Oh, I know that sounds really bad, but it isn’t. Except that his bad days are so rare, when they actually happen, none of us knows what to do. I tried the usual approach… how was your day? What did you do today? Anything happen at work? Was it something I said or did? Was it something I didn’t say or do? Nope, no answers, just a crappy day, and he said he should have stayed in bed all day. Now that my friends, is something I think I might have heard twice in the entire twenty years we’ve almost been together!
Since he was feeling less than normal, I took the kids and went outside. They played, while I transplanted some plants that I got from Memaw, and a few from my own beds. Once that was done, the kids ate supper, and we headed for my nephew’s ball game. I had already planned it, but it now seemed necessary to get away and let Beef have his space. The game was fun, the kids listened, for the most part… even though our team didn’t win the game, I enjoyed watching my nephew and yelling I mean cheering him on from the sidelines. And here’s a glimpse of what that looked like…
“Pass the Button” and “Hide the Button”
Even though our team didn’t win, we were happy to be there, cheering our family on. We are happy to spend time with our family anywhere, any time!
Afterwards, we went to Aunt Pennie’s, where the kids sang and danced for their sweet cousin Brea, who just had surgery. She was partially coherent, so I hope she enjoyed the show. After that, we played and rough housed with the big boys and they taught Fritz to do some silly things… things I hope he doesn’t repeat tomorrow! And after a few hours away, we came home to daddy. Who still wasn’t himself. He even said he didn’t feel good. So if you have an extra minute, put up a prayer for him. I know he’s sick if he didn’t even want to get out of bed today. Poor fella. He missed out on all of our fun! Hopefully he will be feeling much better tomorrow, and we will be having fun family adventures again soon!
