As those who read my blog regularly have noticed, i have switched my background from black to white. While you probably don’t care, i’ll share with you a few things about the significance of this change. First of all, i went with the black theme after using The Custest Blog On The Block backgrounds. While i do love their backgrounds, and i recommend them to anyone who wants a hassle free way to beautify your blog, i also like to be creative in my own way. The black background made it easy for me to read, i thought the pictures stood out better and there was less distraction for all the buttons i wanted.
After using the black background since after Christmas, i have decided to “clean up” my space. It seems so packed full of “stuff”. Don’t get me wrong, i love having all the buttons and gadgets and features. i want to highlight the blogs i read and show off my friends’ posts, because i believe that if i enjoy them, you might enjoy them too. We have to support each other in this manner, because let’s face it, there are just soooo many blogs out there, and who has time to go through and read every single blog on the internet? Not this CornFed Mama!
So i chose to switch from a black to white background because i want to simplify my life again. If you know me, you know that when i can, i am constantly moving. i love to re-arrange my home, and when i worked there, my space at the office. My coworkers would laugh at me because their staplers and monitors and other office materials stayed in the same general area, while mine always seemed to be shifted from one end of the compass to the other. The upside to that is that everything gets dusted!
i have shortened my archive to the dropdown list because it cleans up space. i’ve taken off some of my gadgets and moved others to “out-of-the-way” places. And at some point, i’m sure i’ll have a new background design. But for now, i want simplicity. i want plain and white and clutter-free. i want to log in, post and get over to my friends’ blogs to read what they’ve been up to. Boring as it may seem, i feel the need to make everything as simple and hassle-free as possible. So i can get on with more important stuff.
i hope my vanilla page doesn’t scare you off. And i know that if you check back later, you will probably see something new or maybe a different color. Oh the fun of having our own “space”!
