Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
It was not me who had every intention of keeping up on my blog last week, only to become swampped with work, and neglect my “free therapy”.
i did not forget to set the timer on my coffee pot, thus not having hot coffee the second i awoke two days this week, and i certainly did not, on both days, think my coffee pot was broken!
i was not determined to protect my property and life when a truck pulled into our driveway late at night, and the inhabitants shut off the engine, got out and shut the doors then headed to who-knows-where in the darkened timber. i did not carry a gun in one hand an my daughter in the other arm. That would be redneck, and no, that’s not me!
i was not wearing longhandles and certainly did not look like ma kettle at the time!
i did not wake up to find the entire herd of cattle in my yard the next morning. if i had, my lawn would have looked like a cow lot, and it most definitely is not covered in ruts and hoofmarks. There is not a cow-pie to be found in my yard!
i did not get so frustrated at my phone dropping calls and i did not actually speak to my cell phone and command it to not drop anymore calls. No, because only tired, somewhat loopy, frustrated people talk to cell phones.
i did not go outside of the house and say, “It’s not too bad out here” on a 9 degree day. No, that wasn’t me.
i didn’t enjoy every minute of having my cousin and her kids over Friday night to watch Facing The Giants. It was not my 10th or 15th time to see this movie, and I do not still get goosebumps every time i watch it.
i also did not enjoy the three dance recitals that my cousin’s daughter and her friend put on for us, and i didn’t wonder about the potential for creativity my own child has, or how she will express it one day.
My child did not “cuss me out” early one morning, for who knows what. My child is too sweet to do that, and she would never behave in such a manner. And if my child did “cuss me out”, i didn’t think hard for several hours on how to handle it, or ponder the right way to help her control herself in the years to come. No, because my child is calm and does not have any sort of temper. Let me throw in “just like her mother” for good measure!
i am not happy i woke up three hours ago so that i could catch up on my blog, read my friends blog and finally be on this week’s Not Me Monday!
Check out MckMama’s blog for more Not Me Monday posts, where we can all be honest and admit what didn’t happen in our lives this week!
