Plans

Dear Child Who Suffers:
Whether you are tested by daily struggle, have been abused in one form or another or have been neglected and abandoned; please know this: God Has Special Plans For You.
Wherever you are at this moment, whatever your situation is, He knows, and He is working out a greater purpose than you can understand. This probably isn’t very comforting, it probably doesn’t make much sense, and perhaps it sounds a little trite or stupid to you. But i know. i’ve been there, and i’ve seen it over and over.
You have probably seen it too. Maybe you already know, but are just having a hard time hanging on. Maybe you don’t believe it’s possible for God to use your situation for greatness. Oh Child, please believe!
i can’t tell you everything about my story, it would take too long and be too hard for some to hear. But i can tell you that the road was long and sometimes frightening. It was lonely and hard and noisy, there were people who were just mean, and forces i could not see working against me. i can tell you that had it not been for the basic foundation of faith, i would not have been saved, i would not be telling you the circumstances are true. Had it not been for a mother who set an example and a faith the size of a mustard seed, i may not even be sitting here typing. As a child, i would sometimes cry in my room and beg God to tell me why. “Why do i have to go through this?” “Why me?” Some greats in faith never asked these questions, they never wondered what God was doing, or why they had to lead a life that was less than blissful. i was not one of those Saints. i was hurting, i wanted things to be better for myself, i wanted to stop some of the pain, and get on with the “good” part of life.
Don’t feel guilty if you ask questions like that, God understands who you are. He understands that His children handle things in different ways, and some need to ask.
I just wanted you to know, because i love you and i have been there, that you, Child Who Suffers are a precious Child of God, He is using every single thing that happens in your life to shape you. He is creating a tool which He can use for His Glory.
Every tear you cry, He sees. Every time you’re hurt, He knows. He loves you. He cares about you. He will help you.
If i could tell you one lesson i’ve learned from my own suffering, it would be, “Wait.”
Just stay where you are and wait. Wait on God to come rescue you, wait on God to turn the situation around. Tell Him what you’re thinking or feeling, and He will give you the next step. And if He doesn’t, then be still and wait.
Child Who Suffers, God is coming, and He has special plans for you!
