It's Friday Again

Today was a fabulous day. A1 was a little tender from her shots, but mostly a happy baby as usual. She’s starting to babble again, which ensures me that her health is on the mend! Thanks for your prayers, and please, continue on her behalf. We are really into Pat-A-Cake and If You’re Happy and You Know It… she opens one hand for the clapping parts, but we’re working on both hands! She is enjoying her cereal, and loves to open her mouth for a “bite”. i am trying to finish up the Christmas decorations, so that when she looks back at the photos, she can see the little winter “wonderland” we have created for her first Christmas. i want to start baking again. i had a GREAT start on things back in October, but when i had to have surgery, and A1 started with the cold and croup and now ear infection, it has thrown my lovely little schedule off kilter. Oh well, it can wait. She is more important than any cookies anyway. Perhaps i’ll just buy some.
Tomorrow we are going Christmas Caroling as a family. A1 is not going, for obvious reasons, but i hope to get some great pictures, and share them with you! As a child, i remember caroling with my aunts and uncles, and i list those times as some of my best memories. One year, we rode around in a car with no heat (today, this would be child abuse). i remember us kids complaining as we all piled in like little stay-puffed marshmallow children, and one of the grown ups telling us to pretend like we were on a beach, in the sand, and the sun was shining so brightly, it would warm us up. Okay, first of all, the only beach i had ever been to was Lake Darling, and that alone was not enough to convince my childhood mind that i was warm! Secondly, how does one “pretend” enough to overcome the fact that they are covered in cotton and polyester from head to toe, not to mention the eight pound snowboots that protruded from my bread-sack covered feet!?! But again, i say, it was one of my BEST memories. One family, seven brothers and sisters, twenty grandchildren, all running the streets singing carols to the masses. Oh the love and joy in my heart. i can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. Minus the bread-sacks and eight pound snow boots!
