Well, after three years, i am finally leaving my office. Since the baby may be coming at any day, we have made the decision to cut the ties to my desk, and let someone else have a whack at my job. i will continue to work from home, but will also assist in the training of my replacement. So, today was to be the last day in the office. i wasn’t treating it any different than any other day, except that i had LOTS to do and very little time to do it in. i really felt nervous about making sure that i had everything laid out for the person who will be covering for me while I’m on baby leave, and how i was going to manage working from home. i was busy at my desk when Cindy came in and told me not to leave for lunch, that we would be having a luncheon at the office today… like an idiot, i ask, “For what?”… she had to say duh! (i don’t blame her)
At any rate, here were these people who just had a huge baby shower for me, once again, throwing a party on my behalf! Crazy!!! i couldn’t believe it. It was a nice luncheon, and CJ even went and picked up my favorite pregnancy meal – Grilled Cheese and French Fries from Zaxby’s! YAY!!! Zaxby’s has THE BEST grilled cheese sandwiches – you must try them if you haven’t already!
At any rate, after the luncheon, i went back to working feverishly to get all things accomplished, so that i could leave on time. Of course, as with any tech, i didn’t get out until an hour later…
i love the clock they got for me (to remember all the times we’ve had together) – I’d been wanting a nice clock like that for a while. And also the candle (to light my way)… i love sweet thoughts like that!
i am SO blessed to work for such a great company, and with such sweet people.
God is GOOD!
